About City Boy Meme

January 2026. The City Boy meme was blowing up on TikTok again, and we were making them constantly for our group chats. But every meme generator we tried was either covered in watermarks, required signup, or had terrible interfaces that made positioning text a nightmare.

One night at 2am, after fighting with yet another sketchy meme site, we decided to just build our own. It took a weekend. We used Canvas API for rendering, added drag-to-position text (because who wants to guess coordinates?), threw in some preset phrases, and made sure everything worked on mobile.

We launched it on Reddit in mid-January. Hit the front page of r/gravityfalls within hours. By the end of the first week, people had created over 10,000 City Boy memes. Turns out when you make a tool that doesn't suck, people actually use it.

Most meme makers are honestly terrible:
